'Tool on Time' Program Now Available In Europe, Africa
Embraer officially launched the Tool on Time (ToT) program at
the MRO USA 2008 Conference and Exhibition, April 15-17, in Fort
Lauderdale, FL. The new material solutions program offers an
inventory of over 130 maintenance tools and ground support
equipment, and is currently available for customers in Europe,
Africa, and the Middle East.
"The Tool on Time is a natural improvement of our spare parts
pooling program strategy," said Johann Bordais, Aviation Services
Sales and Contracts Senior Manager for Embraer Aviation
International (EAI). "The program reflects the continuous
improvement Embraer is bringing to its services portfolio, in order
to offer a full support to operators who want not only to optimize
their repairable part management, but also to apply this proven
concept to the most critical tools and ground support
equipment."
The objective of the ToT is to complement the Pool program by
providing customers with all the materials they need to perform
aircraft maintenance and repair, including state-of-the-art
equipment used for specific procedures, thus avoiding additional
investments in low-usage tools and reducing initial disbursements
and maintenance costs.
The Pool program quickly provides replacement parts and
eliminates the need for inventory investments, via an agreement in
which the customer pays a given amount, based on the number of
flight hours of the aircraft enrolled in the program. Embraer
assumes the responsibility for maintaining a parts inventory at its
distribution and service centers, in order to provide parts to
operators as soon as they are requested.
Both programs are designed to reduce overhead investments in
spare parts and ground support equipment and eliminate inventory
management costs for the operators. The parts and equipment needed
to keep the aircraft in perfect flying condition are always
available to the customer, on Embraer premises, assuring greater
cost and budget control.
