Glasair That Went Down Was Flying With Friends
Multiple sources are reporting that a Glasair flying with a
group from Haller Airpark, a small, privately-owned field in Clay
County, Florida went down in a wooded area en route to the St.
Augustine, Florida airport for lunch.

The accident occured Saturday. Pilot Mike Harris and passenger
Pat Cummings, also a pilot, are reported to have been killed when
the plane went down.
Harris was giving his friend a ride back from an airport in
Palatka, FL, where Cummings was having minor work done on his
airplane. He reportedly joined a formation from Haller Saturday
morning, but left the group for lunch at St. Augustine. When they
didn't arrive, his wife became concerned and reported it to local
authorities. A pilot with Florida Fish and Wildlife overheard the
conversation, recommended she report it to the FAA, then flew to
Haller Airpark to talk with other members of the flying club. A
search effort mounted by 6 pilots from Haller located the wreckage
in a wooded area near the St. Johns River close to a new
development called "Rivertown" along the St, Johns River in
northeast Florida.
FAA and NTSB will investigate the accident. Haller Airpark
is the site of ANN HQ... and we offer our condolences and prayers
to the family and friends of these two fallen aviators.
