ANN Revamps Layout, Adds OSHCasts To Daily Coverage
We know, we know... it's completely uncharacteristic for us here
at ANN to do ANYTHING quietly. After all, when you have Jim
Campbell for a boss, one grows accustomed to living life at setting
14 on a proverbial scale of 1-10 (for better and for worse.)
Still, when we decided to unveil a few big changes on our
Aero-News homepage this time around, we took a different tack.
Let's simply introduce some new content, and additional features,
and wait for our readers and viewers to respond. And respond you
have, almost overwhelmingly favorably.
First of all, you'll notice that for this week ANN has added two
additional Aero-TV features to our daily coverage -- a special
Oshkosh-related feature, as well as a 10-minute daily OSHCast recap
of the day's events. We're trying both of these formats out, in
anticipation of rolling out dedicated, SAME DAY events coverage at
future AirVentures and other aviation events. We also plan to begin
DAILY news programming in the near future... and what better place
to try that plan out than at Oshkosh?
You'll notice there's also a new place to access this new video
content -- our new Aero-TV sidebar, located on the right side of
the ANN homepage. This provides a handy overview of all current
Aero-TV features, and makes it easier for ANN readers to find the
features THEY want to watch.
Lastly, on the subject of site changes... believe it or not, but
we're VERY close (finally!) to the major site revamp we've been
discussing over the past year or so. The Aero-TV sidebar is one
preview of this upcoming change; another is the use of new, LARGER
graphics and photographs. We've already started using these
expanded graphical options this week, and will be gradually phasing
in these changes on a larger scale over the coming months.
So -- as we're fond of saying -- stay tuned. We're doing
more than ever to make Aero-News YOUR source for daily aviation
news, features, and programming.
