Embraer's First Lineage 1000 Begins Interior Fitting

Delaware Company Will Provide Almost All Components

The first Lineage 1000 -- Embraer's ultra-large executive jet, based on the planemaker's E190 commercial airliner -- arrived on November 16 at PATS Aircraft Completions, a division of DeCrane Aerospace, located in Georgetown, DE. The aircraft is being outfitted with a customer-selected interior, designed by Priestman Goode from the United Kingdom.

"The Lineage 1000 will offer a premium travel experience with its spaciousness, comfort, luxury and high-end technology," said Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer Executive Vice President, Executive Jets. "The innovative interior design and the low operating cost of the aircraft have resulted in broad market acceptance since its launch in 2006."

The Lineage 1000 made its first flight on October 26, departing from Embraer's main facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, after concluding production tests. The flight crew consisted of Captain Guilherme de Miranda Cará and Captain Leonardo Guerra Ribeiro, assisted by test flight engineer Fabrizio Sabioni Lourenço.

"The flight was excellent. The state-of-the-art Honeywell Primus Epic® avionics suite provides a low pilot workload and the fly-by-wire technology enables a smooth flight with docile flying qualities," reported Cará.

Embraer is utilizing DeCrane Aerospace for almost the entire cabin interior. PATS Aircraft will perform all aspects of the completion by using the highend products of DeCrane, including seating, furniture, wood veneer, IFE systems, cabin management systems and more. DeCrane is able to streamline the completion process, allowing for delivery in as little as six months, or a third to half the time of similar large VIP airplanes.

Delivery of the first Lineage 1000 is scheduled for the second half of 2008.
