The Vertical Flight Society Boasts New Corporate Members

2022 Expands Industry Group with eVTOL Surge

The Vertical Flight Society says that things are running better than ever, thanks in large part to a field of quickly proliferating eVTOL interest.

The Society said that it added a net gain of 20 corporate members in the last year, bringing its total corporate body to 183 in all. That growth comes from the seemingly endless parade of electric and sustainable-flight vertical takeoff aircraft manufacturers, a bonanza of VTOL tech that has brought renewed interest and attention to vertical flight.

“This past year saw impressive progress towards certification of eVTOL aircraft in the US, Europe and Asia,” said VFS Executive Director Mike Hirschberg. “VFS has been instrumental in bringing the community together and developing broad support for eVTOL developments over the past decade. We are very proud of the progress shown by our corporate members, as well as our members in academia and government agencies around the world.”

The Vertical Flight Society isn't slacking on its industry commitments, continuing to host the "world’s largest and longest-running event focusing on the incredible promise, progress and challenges of eVTOL aircraft" at last month's 10th Annual VFS Electric VTOL Symposium. Seeing the membership body of the group, it's apparent that the Society has managed to cultivate a culture of enthusiasm and advancement among its body. Its efforts to motivate and assist the movers and shakers of the science (even the art) of vertical flight have helped to make each year a useful outing for those developing their own systems. Today, the group holds hundreds of hours of VTOL presentations, speeches, and articles by renowned designers and engineers. They're already prepping for this year's upcoming symposium, promising a bash that's bigger and better than ever.
