Aero-TV: NextGen GA Fund Expands - Announcing Jumpstart-IN

Innovative Finance Program Offers Solutions While Others Still Argue About The Problems

While at EAA AirVenture 2015, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, sought out some information regarding the NextGen Fund, what it means, and how it applies to general aviation.

Jim met with Michael Dyment, the Founder and Managing Partner of NEXA capital partners, LLC. NEXA is the financial group primarily responsible for managing the NextGen Fund. Dyment explains some of the actions already taken by the NextGen Fund to get things moving with programs such “Jumpstart” and a new program called “Jumpstart-In.” These programs are aimed primarily at the smaller GA aircraft.

They are also working on the financing of the required equipment and have come up with financing plans that allow the small GA airplane owners to borrow the needed money at low interest rates without the airplane or other property being held as security.

As Dyment explains what NextGen Fund is accomplishing, he also discusses the issue of re-equipping the larger more expensive airplanes through a federally backed loan program. At this time, that program has been held up by lack of action on the part of the FAA.

There’s lots of details in this video that will help the viewer understand more about the 2020 requirement for ADS-B equipment, and how the NextGen Fund can help get things moving.
