Southeast Aero Named Exclusive North American Extra Aircraft Dealer

Plans To Open Tailwheel, Aerobatic Flight School

In what Extra Aircraft calls an effort to better streamline its US aircraft sales and product support, Southeast Aero of St. Augustine, FL has been named the exclusive dealer for sales and service of Extra's 300 aerobatic line for the Unites States, Canada and Mexico.

"Extra Aircraft has had a relationship in one form or another with Southeast Aero for the past 13 years," said Ken Weaver, president of Extra Aircraft. "When it comes to upholding Extra’s mission of exceptional service and support for its customers, Southeast Aero has gone above and beyond, and it was an easy decision for us -– hands down."

Since 1993, Southeast Aero, has served as Extra Aircraft's US Assembly and Support Center, and then became the US Northeast and Eastern dealer. Southeast Aero employs 30 people, and has recently upgraded its facility to include 25,000 square feet of hangar and office space. The dealer also sports a fully integrated avionics, paint and maintenance division.

"We have always prided ourselves on delivering quality support and services to Extra Aircraft customers," said Kramer Upchurch, founder and president of Southeast Aero. "That commitment to excellence will continue as we look forward to selling and servicing Extra aerobatic aircraft throughout the US."

Additionally, Southeast Aero has plans to open a tailwheel and aerobatic flight training center using Extra aircraft. Construction has started on the facility and is expected to be completed in early 2007.

Extra Aircraft is headquartered in Lancaster, PA, with a manufacturing plant in Germany. Founded in the 1980s by veteran aerobatic pilot Walter Extra, Extra Aircraft became a US-owned and -operated company in 2003. The Extra product line includes six specialized models: the EA-200, EA-300L (above), EA-300SP, and EA-300LP aerobatic aircraft, as well as the EA-400 and EA-500, business and touring aircraft.
