Pranksters To David Blaine: We Deliver

Magician Is Taunted By Cheeseburger-Weilding R/C

You know when you're hungry? Really hungry? And how that first sight of food makes your mouth water uncontrollably? Now, imagine you're in a clear plastic cage and you can't reach the food.

Welcome to David Blaine's world.

You can't say Blaine didn't ask for it. The magician is ensconsed in a transparant plexiglass cage, dangling above London's Tower Bridge. He plans to stay there 44 days, drinking only water. By Sunday, he'd made it seven. Some jokers, however, intend that he should fail.

For instance. Take the use of a remote controlled helicopter. Some wise guy with a remote tied a cheeseburger to the bottom of an r/c rotorwing aircraft and dangled it in front of Blaine. Repeatedly. Dreaming outside the box, Blaine was, however magical, unable to reach through the clear plastic and grab the beef.

We consider this the most uselessly creative sortie by a remote controlled helicopter so far this year. Hey, you don't have to condone it to appreciate it.

The use of aerial forces against Blaine has so far not been claimed by any faction. But it's not the first time Blane's manufactured event was interrupted by breaking events. Blaine was targeted to be flashed. An Internet email widely distributed in London suggested readers grab their laser pens and head for Tower Bridge. Only two showed up to lase Blaine.

How many more days of this?
