MGL Avionics Releases Geo-Referenced Raster Charts

Includes Latest FAA Charts For 2nd Half Of 2014

MGL Avionics has released new format Raster Maps for its iEFIS Odyssey/Voyger Gen 2. The file is available for download from MGL.

The company says the fully geo-referenced Raster Charts use the latest higher-resolution charts from the FAA. These charts cover all of USA, including many parts of southern Canada, and includes the latest FAA charts for 2nd half of 2014.

Once downloaded, on iEFIS users can toggle between Vector Maps and Raster Maps by pressing the MAP softkey and then selecting Raster or Vector. Note that Raster maps work best at a fixed zoom level, whereas Vector maps allow the system to redraw the map appropriately for each zoom level selected.

Odyssey/Voyager Gen 2 users can toggle between Vector Maps and Raster Maps by pressing the MAP Function Key on the left side and then selecting Raster or Vector.

MGL says that the file is large ... about 500 Mb.
