ANN Reader John noted, "Was expecting to see an
article on the Canadian built T-33 that crashed here in Canyon
Country the other day. Details were sketchy but it was flown out of
Van Nuys and owned/operated by a doctor who was killed in the
crash.
"N99192 was the FAA registration number. Three mobile homes were
destroyed and several more were damaged. One man on the ground
received burns. Because the aircraft is fitted with ejection seats
the area was evacuated, including a school, until they could
determine if there was any danger.
"First reports had it as a WWII jet aircraft with swept wings
and tip tanks?"
[Because details were sketchy and often contradictory, we held
off on this particular story, until today. The 1953-build trainer
(file photo shown above) was registered to the Blossom Company in
Delaware and flown by a S. Cal Physician. Thanks, John --ed.]
