ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, was at Sun ‘n Fun 2015 and checked up on something new that’s called the “UAV Cage.”
This is where he caught up with Craig Glover, who works in the field marketing division of Yuneec. In case you’re not familiar with Yuneec, they are an innovator in the small UAV business.
You may be aware that there’s a lot of concern over the safety and legality of UAV operations as the FAA tries to develop operating rules. Yuneec appears to be aware of that and has designed a “geo-fence” feature that actually prohibits their UAV from flying above 400 feet or within 5 miles of an airport.
If you’ve been curious about flying one of these things we call a quadcopter, you’ll receive a terrific demonstration in this video. Glover explains that the Yuneec product contains a flight system that is easy to use, and it even has a “safe mode” for beginners.
The video goes into details about the various Yuneec models and what each model can accomplish. As Glover and Jim talk about the advances in small UAVs and their application to recreation and business, you’ll see some real world examples of what UAVs can do.
