Cirrus Drops L-3 Lawsuit

Claim Was That L-3 Had Attempted To Interfere With Cirrus' Ability To Build Airplanes

Cirrus Design Corp has pulled the plug on a lawsuit it had filed against L-3 Communications which claimed the latter had attempted to convince other suppliers to stop doing business with them, saying the GA airplane manufacturer would soon be seeking bankruptcy protection.

Cirrus had sought an injunction against L-3 to prevent the company from contacting its other suppliers, and sought damages in excess of $75,000.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reports that U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz approved the dismissal last Wednesday.

The dispute is the latest in a lengthening line of litigation between the two companies. Cirrus and L-3 parted ways in 2009, and L-3 has sued Cirrus for breach of contract, seeking money it says it's owed. Cirrus has countersued L-3 on that issue, and the companies have been told to be ready for trial on December 31st.
