FAA To Talk Fractional Ownership With NBAA

FAA Learns About Something (Relatively) New In The Air

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is helping the FAA with logistical details for a series of training sessions designed to explain to the FAA regional staff and industry the newly-released Fractional Aircraft Ownership Programs and On-Demand Operations final rule.

FAA staff will meet with current fractional providers and on-demand charter operators for an in-depth review of the new and revised FARs, the policy behind the rules, FAA’s guidance for the rules and how the FAA will oversee the rules. The meetings will be held in Baltimore (MD). Registration for the program is open only to these segments of the industry. On a space-available basis, representatives interested in creating a fractional program and other interested industry participants (e.g., members of the press, attorneys) may attend. NBAA will manage the registration process for the FAA.

The program dates for designated FAA regions are as follows:

  • October 22–23: Great Lakes & Southwest
  • October 29–30: Eastern & Southern
  • November 5–6: Central, New England, Northwest Mountain, Alaskan, Western-Pacific

The NBAA wants attendees to attend the FAA seminar based on their targeted FAA region, which will ensure that fractional provider staff members have a chance to interact directly with the folks at the regional FSDOs.

This interaction will enable participants to address and resolve questions and concerns surrounding these new rules in conjunction with their local FSDO staff.
