Cessna's Team X Support Network Celebrates 10 Years

New Team Mustang Ready To Go

The gang at Cessna Aircraft Company tells ANN they're celebrating more than 10 years of Team X (as in '10'), the support network established to provide Cessna Citation X business jet customers with the highest caliber of service and support for the Citation Xs flying out in the field. And as one team marks an important milestone, another is ready in the wings... so to speak.

"Team X is made up of dedicated specialists on the Citation X’s engines, electrical systems, computers and structures, and, foremost, we’re devoted to ensuring our customers have the fast, knowledgeable, timely and courteous response they expect from the moment they receive their Citation X, throughout their ownership of their airplanes," said Team X Supervisor Steve Lill. "We are here to serve our customers 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Customer response to the team support concept has been so positive, Cessna has moved to team concepts for all of its jet models over the last decade."

To that end, Cessna’s newly certified Citation Mustang light jet is the latest Cessna family member to have a support team created for it. With a year’s worth of experience already, the Mustang team is now looking forward to applying their experience to customer delivered airplanes.

"From the Citation X, the world’s fastest business jet, to the Citation Mustang, the first to be certified in a new category of entry-level business jets, we think the team concept affords our customers the best support possible," said Team Mustang Supervisor Chris Webber. "Just like Team X, we have people who have been with the Mustang program since the very beginning, so they know every part of the airplane. We appreciate Team X leading the way and look forward to providing our Mustang customers with the same positive experiences our Citation X customers have had over the last 10 years."

More than 250 Citation Xs are in service around the world. With a top speed of .92 Mach, the Citation X is the world’s fastest business jet. The Citation Mustang, Cessna’s newest member of the Citation family, was fully certified last September, and the first delivery occurred November 22.

Based on unit sales, Cessna Aircraft Company is the world's largest manufacturer of general aviation airplanes. In 2005, Cessna delivered 1,157 aircraft and reported revenues of about $3.5 billion. Since the company was originally established in 1927, more than 187,000 Cessna airplanes have been delivered to nearly every country in the world. The global fleet of more than 4,500 Citations is the largest fleet of business jets in the world.
