Leonardo-Finmeccanica Expands The Range Of Helicopters Distributed In Turkey

Addition Of AW169 and AW189 Completes The Family Of New Generation Aircraft To Be Distributed In The Country Through Kaan Air

Leonardo-Finmeccanica has reestablished its Distributorship Agreement with Kaan Air of Turkey covering a range of models spanning from 2.8 to 7 metric tons ... encompassing the AW119 single engine, the GrandNew light twin and the AW139 intermediate twin.

The Agreement is now further extended to include the new generation AW169 4.6 metric ton and the AW189 8.3/8.6 helicopter types. The announcement was made during an official ceremony held at EBACE 2016.

The partnership with Kaan Air allowed the introduction of the whole family of new generation helicopters, namely the AW169-AW139-AW189, into the Turkish market with the first European contract for an executive-configured AW189 signed by the distributor in 2014. The three models all possess the same high-performance flight characteristics and safety features whilst sharing the same common cockpit concept and design philosophy. This approach facilitates synergies for operators of these models in areas such as training, flight operations, maintenance and support. Leonardo-Finmeccanica maintains a leading position in the global executive/private transport market with a 50% share in the multiengine segment.
