Caravans Populate Asia Pacific Region

Cessna Celebrates Another Stronghold

While Asian single-engine piston sales are becoming a source of much celebration at Cessna, its Caravan line is the dominant factor in the Asia Pacific region. The company claims Cessna Caravans are becoming more popular in the Far East and Pacific region as is evident by the influx of recent sales to new markets. Nearly five percent of the company's 1,400 Caravan deliveries have been delivered to the Far East and Pacific region.

In 2004 Cessna will deliver Grand Caravans to Indonesia and Philippine operators. Each aircraft delivery represents a milestone for Cessna. PT Asi Pudjiastuti in Indonesia will be the first private operator of a Grand Caravan in Indonesia; whereas, Corporate Air in the Philippines will have the first Grand Caravan on the Philippine register. Other large Caravan fleet operators in the region include Shandong Airlines, based in Jinan, China, and China Northern Airlines based in Shenyang, China. Both companies have successfully operated their Caravans for several years, and provide cargo and passenger operations.

With over 1,400 Caravans operating in a variety of missions worldwide, the Caravan fleet logs over 30,000 hours per month and has exceeded six million flight hours.
