Aero-TV: In The Nick Of Time? - A NextGen GA Fund Update

The GA World Needs All The Help It Can Get... IF It Can Get It

A hot topic at EAA AirVenture 2014 was the subject of the FAA requirement to be ADS-B equipped by January 1, 2020. In this video ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell covers the topic well beyond the technology involved.

Campbell talks with Michael Dyment, the Founder and Managing Partner of NEXA Capital Partners, LLC. Dyment points out that while there is still 5 1/2 years until the time ADS-B is mandated, there are approximately 157,000 GA aircraft to be equipped. If you do the math, that’s about 120 aircraft every work day between now and the deadline.

Not only does this present a logistical problem, it involves a lot of money. Dyment explains the critical issue of financing through what is called the “NextGen GA Fund.” This fund is being made available for loans at low interest rates for GA aircraft owners to equip their aircraft.

In this video, Dyment provides a detailed look at how the NextGen fund works and what it offers. If your aircraft is not already ADS-B equipped and you’re wondering how you’re going to get it done, this video provides important and valuable information.
