Amateur Video Shows Biplane Impacting The Ocean

Images Captured During An Air Show In Guatemala

An amateur video posted on YouTube shows a frightening moment when a plane went down in the Pacific Ocean during an air show in Guatemala.

The video, which last only 15 seconds, shows the Stearman biplane making a low pass over the water, pulling up, and rolling inverted before going back into a dive much like completing an inside loop.

But that's when the trouble starts. The pilot is unable to prevent the biplane from impacting the water.

The person who posted the video on YouTube wrote "Today, I saw a plane crash into the Pacific Ocean."

The online site The Blaze reports that according to local media the pilot suffered only minor injuries in the accident. The airplane, which appears to be a Stearman PT-17 doesn't fare so well. There was no indication if it was even salvageable.
