Million Air Flies Into Moses Lake, WA Market

Company Acquires Air America Fuel & Services

Officials with Million Air announced Tuesday the company recently acquired Air America Fuel & Services at the Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, WA. The terminal will begin official operations as Million Air Moses Lake on January 1, 2009.

Freeman Holdings of Washington, LLC, which also owns five other Million Air facilities throughout the nation, acquired the terminal in November. Renovations are planned to incorporate Million Air's standard first-class amenities.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to have an established aviation company such as Million Air locate at the airport," said Delone Krueger, president of the board of commissioners of the Port of Moses Lake. "Its services will attract new business and revenues for the airport and the community. Being in the high desert of the Columbia Basin in central Washington, Grant County International Airport offers the general aviation pilot an average of 360 days of VFR weather a year."

Million Air Moses Lake will seek some of this new business from commercial, cargo and corporate aircraft returning from Asian airports. Located within a foreign trade zone, Grant County International Airport is a designated port of entry, with a United States Customs and Border and Protection Office on the field. This provides commercial, cargo and corporate travelers an alternative port of entry from other congested ports.

Freeman Holdings will also continue its efforts to secure and maintain a Defense Energy Support Center government fueling contract. This contract has proven beneficial to Million Air and its surrounding communities in other markets.

Million Air Moses Lake will serve and support Japan Airlines and its B-747 flight crew training center located at the airport. Japan Airlines has been training at Moses Lake for more than 40 years.

The facility will also support various Boeing flight tests and certification programs. Boeing is expected to move several 787 Dreamliners to Grant County International Airport, and the Dreamliner certification program is scheduled to begin in early 2009.

Million Air, one of the largest private aviation service companies in the world, provides executive airplane terminal services and upscale private charter. Headquartered in Houston, the company operates a network of more than 30 facilities in the United States, Canada, France and the Caribbean.
