Aviat Aircraft Announces New Husky Model

Sports 200 Pound Gross Weight Increase

Aviat Aircraft has announced the upcoming approval of their new Husky A-1C. The new design would increase the gross weight by nearly 200 pounds.

Company officials tell ANN the Husky A-1C design will also incorporate several new options for propellers including a new 80" Hartzell metal and 76" composite propellers with the 200 hp engine. The 180 hp and 200 hp engines will also have 76" Hartzell metal or 80.5" MT composite propeller options.

"The objective with the change is to expand the envelope for Husky operations, Stuart Horn, President of Aviat Aircraft, said, "The marketplace keeps asking for more utility and we find ways to accommodate those requests. Increasing the useful load by 192 pounds, which brings it up to 842 pounds on a very nicely equipped airplane, dramatically increases the mission profile for the aircraft. The design stands alone in its class for performance and load carrying capability."

The new designs will require design changes for the landing gear and tailwheel components. Additional information can be found at the Aviat Aircraft website.
