Vintage Plane Down Near St. Louis

Two On Board Killed

A vintage Mono Coupe (file photo of type, right) is down and a respected aviator, along with his passenger, are dead.

It happened over the weekend in St. Peters (MO), not far from St. Louis. The two-place 1947 Mono Coupe had taken off from Creve Coeur Airport on a local flight when it went down about six miles north of town.

The victims were identified as pilot Ewell "Bud" Dake, 61, of Ferguson (MO), and passenger Kenny Love, 76, of Crete (IL).
