Business Jet Center OAK Sets Fuel Volume Sales Record

2010 Best Year on Record; January Best Month Ever

Perhaps a sign of an improving economy? FBO service provider Business Jet Center (BJC) reported Monday that 2010 was the best year on record for fuel sales volume at their Oakland International Airport location noting a 28.12% increase in the amount of gallons sold over 2009.

In addition, since its first full year of operation in 2004, the OAK facility reported January was the best month ever for fuel sales volume, up nearly 20% over January 2010.

According to David Mills, General Manager of the Business Jet Center OAK facility, there were several factors that contributed to helping set the new records including a greater share of market, expanded hangar facilities, an increase in base customers as well as an increase in transient traffic. "I believe we are starting to see the fruits of our labor as we seem to be attracting more business travelers to this side of the Bay Area," Mills explained. "Hopefully we are also experiencing a very welcome return to the pre-2008 traffic at our facility."

In addition, Mills said Business Jet Center OAK benefited from a military fueling contract they were awarded in April which will add approximately 1.4 million gallons of fuel volume over the next four years.
