NBAA 2007: Max-Viz, Forward. Vision. Partner On GA EVS

Aim To Bring FLIR To All Private Aircraft

Max-Viz, Inc., provider of Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS) for business aviation fixed and rotary wing aircraft, tells ANN it has teamed with Forward. Vision., provider of forward looking infrared systems for the general aviation fleet, to deploy this life saving technology to General Aviation.

Company representatives believe this relationship creates a new opportunity for general aviation to improve flight safety, by installing advanced EVS technologies in every GA cockpit.

Max-Viz has migrated the performance of its high performance jet and commercial rotor wing EVS infrared technology into a smaller, lighter system, the EVS-100, suitable for installation on piston powered and light turboprop aircraft operating below FL280. Forward. Vision. will distribute the EVS 100 exclusively to select general aviation OEMs, service providers, and the Experimental home built community; under the Forward. Vision. label.

The EVS-100 utilizes the latest Max-Viz EVS technology developed for the business jet market, appropriately repackaged and made available for general aviation.  This latest generation EVS system weighs less than 1.5 lbs, is sunlight safe and designed to be easily upgradeable as this technology continues to improve.

The EVS-100 (right) is designed to be easily integrated with glass panel LCD displays and is much smaller than previous systems. In fact, the EVS-100 is small enough to mount like an antenna, on the wing or fuselage and even behind the prop. The EVS-100 utilizes a long wave infrared sensor and will retail for $14,995 The Forward. Vision. team is demonstrating this EVS-100 enhanced vision system by appointment during NBAA and is taking orders for the systems.

AVIAT announced Forward. Vision. EVS-100 is an option on the Husky and has an EVS-100 equipped aircraft on site during NBAA for demonstrations. Forward. Vision. will also develop applications for Max-Viz core IR technology outside of aviation.

"Forward. Vision. is excited about this strategic alliance with Max-Viz, the EVS industry leader, and looking forward to working with Max-Viz to bring the advantages of the latest technology in EVS to the general aviation fleet," said Patrick Farrell, President of Forward. Vision.

Over 80 Forward. Vision. systems and 200 Max-Viz systems are flying worldwide.
"We at Max-Viz are looking forward to combining our experience in EVS and its application to Business Jet and rotary wing aviation with Forward. Vision.'s experience in the general aviation and other markets. Together we will be well positioned to better serve the general aviation market than individually," said Jim Tuttle, President and CEO of Max-Viz.
