Angel MedFlight CEO Makes Gift To Fredericktown, OH, FD

Former Fredericktown Firefighter Jamie Freer Donates Off-Road Vehicle

The Fredericktown Community Fire District’s fire-suppression fleet just grew by one, courtesy of a gift from Jeremy Freer, a Fredericktown Fire alumnus and President and CEO of Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Services. He surprised the district with a new Polaris Wildfire off-road rescue vehicle, presented during a May 28 pancake breakfast at the firehouse.

Polaris Donated By Freer

“We certainly appreciate this generous act,” says Fredericktown Fire Chief Scott Mast. “The Polaris will greatly assist us in the control of grass and field fires, and its smaller stature will give us access to areas that we previously could not reach. Being able to carry a Stokes basket will enable us to more effectively remove a patient from remote areas. We can also use the Polaris as a first responder at local events. It really is a significant asset to our station and to the people of Knox County.”

A past supporter of Fredericktown Fire, Freer was pleased to again contribute.

“Volunteering for Fredericktown Fire was the start of my career in medical services, and I’ll always be proud to belong to such an incredible group,” says Freer. “These men and women put their lives on the line in service to others, and the Polaris will be another resource to aid in their rescue efforts.”

First organized in 1854, the all-volunteer Fredericktown Fire District is today comprised of 27 men and women and serves more than 8,700 citizens over a 115-square-mile radius in Central Ohio. The department was honored as the 2010 Ohio Volunteer Fire Department of the Year.
