Eclipse Taps SimCom For Training

Level D Sims Will Relocate To Orlando, FL

Eclipse Aerospace, Inc. and SimCom Training Centers have announced a partnership to provide pilot training for EA-500 owners and operators. Eclipse will relocate two EA-500 Level D simulators to SimCom's training center in Orlando, FL. The type-specific, high-fidelity training devices will be utilized by SimCom to provide initial and recurrent pilot training.  Simulator training is scheduled to be available in the third quarter of 2010. To conduct the training, SimCom will develop a comprehensive suite of advanced training courseware including animated systems presentations, fold-out color panel posters, technical systems manuals and cockpit procedures trainers.

Both simulators currently replicate the EA-500 and include the Avio integrated avionics system.  Aerodynamic and engine flight test data, combined with control loading, provide realistic flight control behavior. A wide radius visual system incorporates new day/night and all-weather imagery, which is a highlight of FAA Level D simulators. Selected airports are modeled with highly detailed features that accurately represent the real operating area. Converging traffic on the ground and while airborne offers operators the opportunity to train for conflict recognition and avoidance. Weather phenomena is improved with new features including dynamic thunderstorms with rain shafts, ragged ceilings, blowing snow, patchy fog and scud. Planned upgrades include the Avio NG 1.5 suite along with autopilot enhancement, GPS WAAS capability and Flight Into Known Icing modifications.

Eclipse Aerospace will continue to provide factory authorized initial, recurrent, and differences in-flight training until the simulators are installed and operational in Orlando, following which SimCom will be the exclusive source and provider of factory authorized training for Eclipse in North, Central and South America.

"This new relationship enables Eclipse to offer its existing and future operators the opportunity to receive professional simulator-based training. SimCom looks forward to providing its signature, personalized service to the owners and operators who represent an important segment of the business aviation market," said Wally David, President and Chief Executive Officer of SimCom.

"The successful safety record of the Eclipse aircraft is built largely around the extensive pilot training program Eclipse requires for an aircraft type rating and recurrency. The excellent SimCom simulator-based training programs for the Eclipse 500 will build upon our in-flight programs. Together we will provide an unparalleled training program to lead the general aviation industry in training safe and qualified jet pilots," said Mason Holland, Chairman and President of Eclipse Aerospace, Inc.
