ARINC Moves Wintermute Operations

Repair Facility Heads For Colorado Springs, Opens New Instrument Facility

ARINC Direct is a business definitely on the move, saying it has relocated the former instrument repair operations of Wintermute Aviation from Marietta (GA), to Colorado Springs (CO). The operations form the basis of the new ARINC Direct Aircraft Services instrument center, which opened September 10.

The new instrument center has three times the space of the previous facility and is furnished with extensive new test equipment and an expanded inventory of spares. With computerized scheduling and streamlined shipping and receiving it offers a range of services including sales and exchange, overhaul, repair, and recertification of aviation instruments, test equipment, and accessories.

ARINC Direct's instrument center has already received Instrument Class 1, 2, 3, & 4 and Accessory Class 2 certifications from the FAA. With in-house repairs and aircraft-on-ground capability, the center can provide fast turnaround and improve the instrument servicing time frame for customers nationwide.

"Our large inventory of spare parts allows us to offer overnight delivery, swap-outs, and exchange programs that will save customers and FBOs valuable time," stated Dave Poltorak, ARINC's Vice President of Business Aviation Services. "We intend to become a major brand name in instrument repairs, with a national reach and reputation. That's an integral part of the ARINC Direct mission-to be an essential partner to business aviation."

The ARINC Direct instrument center also features an advanced clean-room for the repair of air-driven and remote-mount directional and vertical gyros -- an exacting specialty.

"The ability to balance and overhaul gyro rotors for most aircraft types opens up an important new customer base for us," said Thomas Robeson, ARINC Aircraft Services Director. "We already have a great technical staff, and we plan to expand our factory affiliations and certifications to become a national leader," he added.
