Maintenance Resource Management
The Professional Aviation
Maintenance Association has announced a new addition to its popular
series of Professional Development Workshops, which are offered
each year at PAMA’s Annual Maintenance Symposium.
“Maintenance Resource Management” will focus on
decreasing accidents and incidents while increasing safety and
professionalism. The workshop will show professional technicians
how to reduce operational costs and prevent accidents and injuries.
Through accident investigation review and class interaction,
participants will learn the impact they have on their
organization’s success.
“Traditional maintenance
training courses deal with operating knowledge of specific aircraft
systems, systems analysis, and the ability to identify and correct
malfunctions. Maintenance professionals have demonstrated
proficiency in the arena of technical competence; however, doing a
task correctly is only half of what is required, said Brian
Finnegan, PAMA President. “With downsizing and increasing
costs, every task must be completed effectively, safely, and
efficiently. Showing the technician how to accomplish this is what
this course is all about.”
The two-day training session will be led by Al Krusz, Director
of Maintenance Training Plans/Corporate Counselor, FlightSafety
International. It will be held at Harrah’s Las Vegas on
Sunday, March 6 and Monday, March 7, 2005 from 0800 to 1700. PAMA
will offer other Professional Development Workshops, including:
Aviation Maintenance Management, Savvy Piston Aircraft Maintenance,
Vital Communications Skills for Today’s Maintenance Leaders,
Aviation Accident Investigation for Mechanics, and AED/CPR
Training.
