Akron-Canton Airport Receives Perfect Part 139 Score From FAA

Inspections Include ARFF Facilities, Airfield Movements, Fueling Facilities, More

The Akron-Canton Airport (KCAK) recently achieved a perfect score on the FAA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 139 Airfield Safety Inspection. All U.S. airports that offer commercial airline service are evaluated annually.

The exhaustive process involves pre-inspection reviews, administrative meetings, inspections of aircraft rescue and firefighting facilities (ARFF), airfield movement areas (like runways and taxiways), fueling facilities, night operations, and administrative briefings. CAK airfield and operations passed with flying colors.

"We are so proud of our team," said airport President and CEO Rick McQueen. "We have a very strong operations and field maintenance team. They pay close attention to detail and deliver exceptional service to our airline partners. Their work creates a safe and efficient airfield. They help make CAK a better way to go."
