Aircrew Restrains Woman Who Stormed An Airliner Cockpit

AA Flight Was On Approach When The Incident Occurred

An American Airlines aircrew on a flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to Charlotte, NC on Wednesday morning had to restrain a passenger who ran up the aisle towards the cockpit while the plane was on approach to land.

Fox News reports that the passenger has been identified as Charlene Sarieann Harriott, 36. She was seated near the rear of the aircraft, but when the plane began its descent into Charlotte, she reportedly left her seat and ran up the aisle towards the cockpit.

The Charlotte Observer reports that flight attendants had already taken their seats when Harriott charged up the aisle. The shouted for her to stop, but eventually chased her towards the front of the plane.

Harriott was stopped in the first class section of the aircraft, and restrained with duct tape and zip ties, according to the report. She became increasingly aggressive during the struggle, according to a criminal complaint filed against her, biting one of the FAs on the right forearm and drawing blood. The hit a second FA on the right forearm, and kicked a third in the leg and abdomen, according to the complaint.

Harriott has been charged by the FBI with three counts of assault and battery for interfering with a flight crew and flight attendants.
