i2i Program Includes Fourms, Leadership Award
Embry-Riddle recently announced the
launch of a new program designed to stimulate collaborative
innovation across the aviation and aerospace industry. Officials
say the i2i Program offers a new and different way for firms to
systematically share innovative solutions to common problems in the
industry.
The i2i Program consists of three integrated parts. The first
part includes a series of i2i Forums, small professionally
facilitated meetings of industry professionals that convene
periodically to share best practices and innovative solutions in
areas predefined by the participants. Six to eight i2i Forums will
be held in a variety of locations each year.
The second part of the program involves the i2i Leadership
Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize leaders in
management innovation. Nominations will be solicited once a year,
and winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts. Each
winner, in turn, will be invited to participate in the third step
of the process, the i2i Annual Roundtable.
The i2i Annual Roundtable provides a platform for the winners of
the i2i Leadership Award to present their stories to a broader
audience. This event is also used to present a summary of key
findings from the i2i Forums throughout the year.
Benefits of the i2i Program include in-depth peer-to-peer
exchange of explicit and tacit knowledge in a professionally
facilitated small group setting; feedback from peers, when
requested, on a participant's own business practices; international
visibility for the winners of the i2i Leadership Award; and access
to Embry-Riddle Worldwide's i2i knowledge database.
"We are always looking for innovative ways to improve our
operations and look forward to participating in the program," said
Robbie Griggs of Joint Strike Fighter Global Sustainment Operations
at Lockheed Martin.
