Airline to Expand Markets and Charter Operations with Delivery
of New Aircraft
MAXjet Airways has reached an
agreement in principle for two more aircraft to be delivered in
early 2007, expanding the airline's fleet to five 767s. In
addition, the Company is having ongoing negotiations for additional
aircraft to be brought into the operations in 2007. With loads on
the increase and MAXjet owning the majority share of transatlantic
traffic between the U.S. and London Stansted Airport., the airline
continues its focus on expansion, both in frequency and new routes,
to satisfy the growing demand.
The com[pany says that the success of MAXjet's
all-business-class service continues to grow as it experienced load
factors of more than 70 percent in both June and July on its route
between New York and London Stansted. On its Washington to London
base route just launched April 3, MAXjet reported a 60 percent
average July load factor.
As well as the scheduled routes, MAXjet's luxury charter
operations continue to grow with the acquisition of its third
aircraft, which is expected to enter service in September. This
aircraft will focus on the growing charter business as well as
being used as support on the New York and Washington scheduled
routes. The airline's luxury charter business, which has
experienced significant growth, transports groups to various
destinations throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the U.S. Recent
charters include Stockholm to Las Vegas, and England to Washington
D.C. and Los Angeles. The Company has a strong customer base that
includes corporations, government entities and professional sports
teams.
"The two new aircraft will be used to open new scheduled service
markets and increase our charter operations," said MAXjet CEO Gary
Rogliano. "For new scheduled service markets, we are seriously
looking at Boston and Las Vegas to London, as well as exploring
several other major U.S. destinations such as Los Angeles and San
Francisco."
