NASAO Selects John Shea To Serve As Manager Of Government Relations

Has Several Years Of Experience On Capitol Hill

NASAO is pleased to announce that John J. Shea has been selected to join the NASAO team as Manager of Government Relations. Shea has several years of Hill experience, which includes work as a legislative assistant for Representatives Chuck Fleischmann and Stephen Fincher, both from Tennessee.

“I’m very pleased to welcome John as the newest member of the NASAO team,” said Mark Kimberling, NASAO President & CEO. “John’s legislative experience on the Hill, and specifically his work on transportation issues, coupled with his keen interest in working to better our aviation system makes him an ideal advocate for our association. I’m eager to work with John to advocate on behalf of our members and advance NASAO’s legislative priorities in this important year and beyond.”

Shea, who graduated from the University of Memphis in 2011, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a Minor in Public Relations. In addition to his years of legislative work on the Hill, Shea also served as a campaign manager for a congressional campaign.

“I am very excited to be joining NASAO as Government Relations Manager at such an important time,” said Shea. “Updating our nation’s transportation and infrastructure will be an early and significant priority for the 115th Congress and the new Administration. NASAO has long been an effective and influential voice in the aviation community, and I look forward to promoting the solutions put forward by the leaders of our state aviation agencies.
