Bombardier Sells Five Challenger 300 Aircraft To Donghai Jet

Shenzhen-Based Operator Also Takes Delivery Of The First China-Based Challenger 605 Aircraft

Bombardier Aerospace has confirmed a firm order for five super midsize Challenger 300 jets from Donghai Jet Co., Ltd. based in Southern China. The total value of the order is approximately $121 million US, based on the 2010 list price for typically equipped aircraft.

Upon delivery, the Challenger 300 business jets will join a new Challenger 605 jet, which was handed over during a special ceremony at Donghai Jet's headquarters in Shenzhen on November 13, 2010. Donghai Jet will soon operate the first Challenger 300 and Challenger 605 jets to be based in China.

"This order is a very important milestone in the growth of our fleet of Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets in Greater China," said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft in a news release Friday. "The range and cabin size of the Challenger 300 and Challenger 605 jets are ideally suited for non-stop access throughout the region and are a perfect fit for Donghai Jet's charter operation. We are honoured that Donghai Jet has put their confidence in our Challenger aircraft family to debut its business jet charter operations in China," he added.

Donghai Jet Co., Ltd. is headquartered at Shenzhen airport and was jointly established by Shenzhen Donggang Investment Development Ltd, East Pacific Holdings Ltd. and Win Glory Enterprises Ltd., a Sino-foreign joint venture. In addition to charter services, Donghai Jet Co., Ltd. also provides trading consultation, management and maintenance services for business jets.

Present in China for over 50 years, Bombardier says it is positioned to offer its customers the required support for their increasing travel requirements. Bombardier Business Aircraft operates sales offices in Beijing and in Hong Kong and has three Authorized Service Facilities in the region. In addition, a Regional Support Office in Hong Kong is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.

China is among a number of countries emerging as key markets for business aviation. Globalization, increased travel requirements by business people and a general positive trend towards the acceptance of business aircraft use are among the contributors to increased activity in the region. The Bombardier Business Aircraft Market Forecast, published in July 2010, predicts business aviation industry deliveries of 600 aircraft in China for the 10-year period covering 2010-2019.
