Spectrum Aeronautical Receives Fleet Order From Jetpool

NC-Based Company Selects S-33, S-40 Models

Austin Blue, President of Spectrum Aeronautical, LLC, announced Monday his company has received a "significant" fleet order for the Independence model S-33 and Freedom model S-40 business jets. The order was placed by Jetpool, LLC, of Charlotte, NC.

"I’m pleased Jetpool has selected Spectrum’s equipment to expand their operations as they have a unique and effective business model,:" said Blue. "Jetpool has turned shared and single jet ownership into an affordable yet hassle-free proposition. They tackle all the complex aspects of the ownership experience by applying the operational precision that comes from being owned and led almost exclusively by military veterans."

Spectrum’s Director of Sales, Gary Bushouse, added "In addition to their management services, they’re also offering a `mentor pilot' program staffed with former Navy aviators. That type of talent, serving as mentor pilots, is the optimal way to transition to jets."

Ryan Stone, CEO of Jetpool, said the Spectrum family of aircraft was chosen after an extensive evaluation of alternative light jet aircraft.

"We looked at every VLJ coming into the market, and Spectrum was an easy choice. Spectrum’s products will give our shared ownership clients high performing `regular' sized aircraft at a VLJ weight and price -- the value proposition is truly disruptive."

Spectrum Aeronautical is headquartered in Carlsbad, CA with its development center located in Spanish Fork, UT. The company is developing two jets: the Freedom, a nine-place mid-sized jet, scheduled for certification and first deliveries in 2009 and the Independence, an eight-place light jet, scheduled for certification and initial deliveries during 2010. Both aircraft feature composite fuselage and structure technology, resulting in empty weights that are about 40% less than comparably sized aluminum aircraft.

In addition to their regular services, Jetpool again is sponsoring a VLJ symposium at their Charlotte, NC headquarters March 7-8. This year’s program is expected to attract over 1,000 attendees from the US and abroad, as well as a number of VLJ manufacturers.
