Airborne 09.10.13: AEA 2Q/13 Report, CSeries Almost Ready, LADEE To The Moon!

The avionics industry is on par to outperform sales from 2012 according to the 2nd Quarter Avionics Market Report released by the Aircraft Electronics Association.

 

In the months of April, May and June 2013, total worldwide avionics sales amounted to more than $1.6 billion, as reported by the 20 aviation electronics manufacturers participating in the report. Bombardier's new narrow bodied CSeries aircraft could be seen in the skies for the first time very soon now that high speed taxi runs have been completed. The taxi tests up to 120 knots were run last Friday. Bombardier released a video of the test runs in Mirabel, Quebec. The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) observatory launched aboard a Minotaur V rocket from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Virginia.
