Entire Evolution Product Line Now Available To European Market
EASA has expanded the European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) authorization for Aspen’s Evolution Flight Display to include additional system components previously approved by the FAA. This EASA approval, announced Tuesday by Aspen, expands the ETSO authorization to include the latest Evolution Software version 2.4.1 (and Level B software version 2.3.2), the second generation ACU2 hardware, the Evolution Backup Display, the EA100 Autopilot Adapter, and Evolution Synthetic Vision.
“This latest EASA approval opens up the entire Evolution product line to the European market,” says Brad Hayden, Aspen’s Vice President of Marketing. “Aspen’s European customer base continues to grow and these approvals are critical to supporting the expansion of our cockpit solutions to these markets.”
The current Evolution Software Version 2.4.1 offers European customers improvements to the standard MFD nav and terrain map, as well as allowing the activation of Aspen’s world wide Evolution Synthetic Vision. Additionally, this ETSO authorization approves new variants of the Analog Converter Unit (ACU2) that support ARINC 407 synchro heading output, the interface for dual Bendix/King KR87 ADF, an external OAT probe, a radar altimeter interface, and provisions for future support of dual DME receivers.
The Evolution Backup Display is also available for third party European STC development. The Evolution Backup Display is designed to replace legacy mechanical backup instruments in OEM and retrofit glass panel installations, and is built from the same robust, feature-rich platform as the Evolution Flight Display. Hayden adds, “Aspen will continue pursuing approvals that make the flexible and affordable Evolution Flight Display system available to a wider audience.”
