Tenth Annual Alternative Engine Roundup Announced

Yuba County Airport (KMYV) Will Host The Event

The 10th annual Alternative Engine Roundup sponsored by CONTACT! magazine has been set for June 8th at Yuba County Airport (KMYV) in Marysville, CA. The event is being held in conjunction with the West Regional Fly-in & Airshow June 7-9.

Organizers say that if your airplane has an "alternative engine," you will be given free admission to the event, whether you fly in or bring your aircraft on a trailer.

According to the event website, the Round-Up "will always be a free event for those who choose to bring to the event an experimental (homebuilt) aircraft that's powered by an “alternative engine” and puts their plane on display with all the others." Admission for them and their passengers will be waved for the day. The offer is also extended to alternative engines mounted on a test or display stand, running or not.

There will also be a full day of educational forums focusing on alternative engines. Those can include automobile conversions. Some of the sessions on the schedule include Electric Light Sport Aircraft, Automobile Engines in Experimental Aircraft, and a 'Corvair Confab'.

No preregistration is necessary for the forums, but those wishing to bring an alternative engine need to pre-register by e-mailing Pat Panzera, the editor of CONTACT! Magazine.
