AOPA Spent $770K Lobbying In The 3rd Quarter

Environmental, Safety, And Airport Fees All Topics On The Hill

AOPA spent $770,000 lobbying in the 3rd quarter of 2009, according to documents filed with the Clerks Office of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Associated Press reports that AOPA talked to members of Congress, as well as TSA and other related federal agencies, about such issues as requiring the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to follow the normal negotiated rulemaking process for issues other than those considered an urgent security threat.

The organization also lobbied on behalf of GA on the issues of alternative fuels, greenhouse emissions, user fees, and the re-authorization of both the FAA and TSA.
