Embraer Flying High In To 2012

Expanding Their Product Offerings In Every Segment From Light Jet to Long Range Wide Body

It's pretty well known by now that AirVenture is about more than Sport Aviation and GA. As if to put a period on that point, Brazilian jetmaker Embraer brought their Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft to Oshkosh. Wednesday morning, they provided an update on their company’s expanded executive jets portfolio, consisting of the entry level Phenom 100, the light Phenom 300, the midlight Legacy 450, the midsize Legacy 500, the super midsize Legacy 600, the large Legacy 650, and the ultra-large Lineage 1000 jets.

President Executive Jets Ernest Edwards gave an overview of the market for business jets and how Embraer views their position. As the current jet fleet ages and new company needs increase;  he said they think the demand will be for 10,000 aircraft over the next 10 years. They are seeing the demand for new aircraft ramping up now in 2011. Their new aircraft final assembly and Customer Delivery center in Melbourne, FL is completed and they are wrapping up with 69 FTE growing to 200 in the next months. They have invested $50M to complete the center. This will not be the Headquarters for Embraer Executive Jet Division.

Embraer is also moving forward on the design and certification of their 450/500 Legacy Long Range aircraft. They recently completed the full assembly of the first fuselage. They have sold 200 Phenon 100, 40 Phenon 300, 190 Legacy 600/650 and 10 Lineage 1000 jets through 2010. They expect to sell 100 Phenon 100/300 and 18 Legacy jets in 2011.

Recent upgrades on the Phenon 100 include SMS/email in the cockpit and a belted Laboratory. It was the most delivered jet in 2010 with 200 product produced and sold.
