Direct-To Avionics Releases New EFIS SV-10

Direct-To Avionics has introduced a custom-tailored Chelton EFIS system for the Vans RV-10. Dubbed the Chelton EFIS SV-10, Direct-To Avionics tells ANN that it has broken new ground in capability and ease of installation of sophisticated, flat panel, integrated flight decks. The two-screen SV-10 system incorporates not only the rock-solid Pinpoint Inertial GADAHRS, it also features an integrated prefabricated wiring harness of exacting quality.

"When interviewing several RV-10 builders, it seemed that aircraft wiring was somewhat of a mystery,” says Direct-To Avionics president Kirk Hammersmith.

“So we set out to make it as easy as possible for the customer. First again in the industry, we're proud to offer our RV-10 pilots a way to simplify their EFIS installation. Our Chelton EFIS SV-10 aircraft harness is a major break-through to the end user and should save a builder hours of complex wiring and engineering.”

That custom-engineered SV-10 harness eliminates and consolidates over 130 electrical connections. And it’s not just a harness for the Chelton EFIS, it includes wiring from wingtip to wingtip and from firewall to rudder. The harness is supplied by an aerospace company which also manufactures harnesses for the F-22, the F-16, and to Airbus and Boeing and its construction reflects commensurate quality and integrity. It comes ready to go and is plug-and-play with not only the two Chelton EFIS screens, but also interfaces readily with the new Pinpoint Inertial GADAHRS, the Trutrak Autopilot with pitch and roll servos, Garmin SL-30 Nav/Com, datalink, and PS Engineering audio panel.
