BizAv Has A Friend In 'Dilbert'

Comic Slams 'Hypocrites' On Capitol Hill

In a time of seemingly endless attacks against private and corporate aviation, it's nice to know there are some outside the industry who apparently believe bizav is getting a raw deal in the court of public opinion, and before Congress.

Those sentiments were expressed in newspaper comics pages throughout the nation Wednesday. In the February 25 edition of the wildly popular cartoon strip "Dilbert," cartoonist Scott Adams expresses what's been on the minds of more than few proponents of business aviation over the past several months.

In the cartoon -- available at the FMI link below -- character "Dogbert" testifies before lawmakers about a proposed bailout plan for his company (recently purchased in an earlier strip for cents on the dollar.)

When asked by legislators about his flying to the hearing on a corporate jet, Dogbert gives a response worthy of the Pulitzer, in our humble opinion. We won't spoil the punchline... but suffice to say the terms "hypocrites" and "wool-coated glob of fat" come into play.

Between Rush Limbaugh and Dilbert... nevermind the efforts of the National Business Aviation Association, among others -- bizav may just have a chance yet...
