Houston Executive Opens For Business

It's been more than two years in the making... but as of January 26, Houston Executive Airport (78T) has officially opened for business.

"I am delighted to announce the opening of the newest airport in the country right here in West Houston," said HEA owner Ron Henriksen. "Houston Executive Airport is poised to significantly impact the Houston area and provide unparalleled service to the business aviation market."

Houston Executive Airport Executive Director, Andrew D. Perry, A.A.E., acknowledged the airport's dedicated team. "This is an exciting day not only for Ron and myself, but also for the many people who have devoted hundreds of hours of hard work to make this airport the first class aviation center that it is today."

Perry said a grand opening event would take place in Spring 2007.

Houston Executive Airport is a private commercial development established by a former commercial pilot and Houston native, Ron Henriksen. Known as South Waller County Airport in its planning stages, Houston Executive Airport is located at the western edge of Houston metroplex, in the growing suburban town of Brookshire.

Officials with the airport state Houston Executive will cater to both business and general aviation aircraft. With an eye for coming growth, Henriksen has long-range plans to add another 2,000 feet to the airport's current 5,050-foot, lighted, PAPI-equipped runway, to accommodate larger aircraft. 

FBO services at the airport will be provided by the aptly-named Henriksen Jet Center.

"Henriksen Jet Center will provide services such as aircraft fueling, ground handling operations, rental cars and all the amenities needed to provide premium service for the business air traveler visiting West Houston," said Perry. Chevron Global Aviation was recently named the airport's fuel supplier.
