Max-Viz Announces First Certified EVS-1000 Install In Alaska

One Sky Aviation Will Demo System For Northern Customers

Max-Viz Inc. of Portland, OR and One Sky Aviation of Anchorage, AK told ANN Tuesday of the award of the first Enhanced Vision STC out of the Anchorage ACO. One Sky Aviation intends to utilize the EVS-1000 installation to market the Max-Viz product line on the last frontier.

"The cooperative development of this important STC has provided One Sky Aviation the ability to market EVS technology in a region where demonstrations would otherwise be cost prohibitive," says Cary Foster, Owner of One Sky Aviation. "We have installed Max-Viz foundational product, the EVS-1000, on our PA-30 which will allow us the ability to demonstrate the safety specific operational advantages of enhanced vision to operators from all aviation market segments.

"We have already had significant interest from both the single engine general aviation segment, as well as corporate, transport category airlines, and helicopter operators," Foster added.

Max-Viz EVS systems have been installed in a variety of general aviation aircraft, including Pilatus PC-12s and Global Express business jets. The company touts its EVS systems as the smallest, most reliable and affordable Enhanced Vision Systems for aircraft.

The systems use real-time infrared sensors, signal processing, and a cockpit display to provide flight crews with actual images of terrain, runways, taxiways, aircraft and other potential obstacles during poor visibility conditions such as light fog, haze, smoke, precipitation and darkness.

"The development of a relationship with One Sky Aviation in Alaska has provided us with the ability to have a presence in a region we would normally have difficulty in adequately serving," said Max-Viz President and CEO Jim Tuttle. "One Sky Aviation's ability to conduct statewide on-site demonstrations has certainly solidified their commitment to enhancing the safety of flight operations in Alaska.

"The certification process through the Anchorage ACO provided both One Sky and the FAA with a sound foundation on EVS capabilities and installation specifics," Tuttle added. "We look forward to the expansion in both the available products and airframe certifications through One Sky Aviation in the near future"
