Enstrom Helicopter Signs Deal With Estonia

Ministry Of Environment To Get New 480B

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation told Aero-News Thursday the company has signed a deal to provide the Estonian Environmental Inspectorate with an Enstrom 480B helicopter. The new aircraft will serve as a surveillance helicopter for the Republic of Estonia’s Ministry of Environment.

Enstrom was selected in October 2005 via a competitive public tender process.

The 480B helicopter will be outfitted with the capability to mount a surveillance camera and recording equipment, along with a searchlight and emergency floats. The helicopter will be based in Tallinn and will be operated throughout Estonia. The Environmental Inspectorate’s mission is to protect Estonian natural resources, such as wildlife, fisheries and forests while also monitoring inland, coastal and territorial waterways. The aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in April.

"Being selected to provide a helicopter to the Environmental Inspectorate of Estonia is a very important international endorsement stating that Enstrom is a top competitor in building quality helicopters for government agencies around the world," said Tracy Biegler, Director of Marketing and Sales.

Founded in 1959, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation manufactures a complete line of helicopters including the three-place, piston-powered F28F and 280FX, and the turbine-powered 480B. The 480B also is available as a three-place advanced trainer or as a three- to five-place VIP aircraft.

For law enforcement applications, the 480B is known as the Guardian and the F28F is called the Sentinel.
