Commuter Air Technology Taps StandardAero For PT6A-60A Engine Support

Will Provide CAT With PT6A-60A Maintenance, Repair And Overhaul (MRO) Services

StandardAero has recently been selected by Commuter Air Technology (CAT) to provide support services for Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-60A engines installed on King Air 350 aircraft operated by the company. Under the multi-year agreement, StandardAero will provide CAT with PT6A-60A maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services from its Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) with Distribution rights in Summerside, PEI, Canada, delivering improved turn times and reduced operating costs to CAT and its customers.

CAT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Meta Special Aerospace, is a well-established leader in King Air operations and support, having developed over 50 supplemental type certificates (STCs) and multiple other special mission modifications for the versatile platform. CAT’s operations division is also a total solutions provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) services for overseas missions in support of U.S. Special Operations Forces.

"StandardAero (formerly Vector Aerospace) has been a strategic partner with Commuter Air Technology since 2007, providing PT6A engine maintenance services for the entire CAT fleet," said Nic Hawker, Director of Maintenance for CAT. "Together we have amassed over 155,000 hours of engine operations on three continents. StandardAero has consistently supplied CAT with the highest quality of engine overhauls, hot section inspections, repairs, fuel nozzles, engine inspections and other components. They have done this while meeting tight timelines, working in austere conditions and keeping up with CAT’s fast moving, ever expanding fleet and high-tempo operations. We at CAT are proud to move into the next chapter of this strategic partnership with StandardAero by entering into this multi-year, exclusive agreement with the largest CAT fleet expansion to date. We look forward to working with our StandardAero teammates over the next 155,000 hours, and the many more to follow.”

“We are delighted to have been awarded the opportunity to support Commuter Air Technology with aggressive economical solutions for their growing PT6A needs,” said Jason Johnson, vice president – Sales & Marketing for StandardAero's Airline & Fleets business unit. “Given the mission-critical services provided by CAT’s operations division to U.S. warfighters around the globe, we value the trust shown in us by CAT to deliver responsive, high-quality PT6A support in support of its King Air operations.”
