NOTAM: Potomac Airfield 11.19.05

(Editor's Note 11.17.05 1830 GMT: The FAA has just issued a Notice To Airmen regarding pilots who still have their aircraft at the recently-closed Potomac Airfield. Those owners and pilots will have a brief window of opportunity SATURDAY, 11.19.05, to reposition their aircraft to other airports. The FAA's unedited NOTAM is below:)

SPECIAL NOTICE.. PROCEDURES FOR AIRCRAFT OWNERS DESIRING TO RE-POSITION AIRCRAFT FROM POTOMAC AIRFIELD. EFFECTIVE FROM 0511191200 UTC (0700 LOCAL 11/19/05) UNTIL 0511192200 UTC (1700 LOCAL 11/19/05) DUE TO TSAS AMENDMENT OF POTOMAC AIRFIELDS SECURITY PROCEDURES UNDER 49 C.F.R. PART 1562, POTOMAC AIRFIELDS AUTHORIZATION TO OPERATE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. AIRCRAFT OWNERS DESIRING TO RE-POSITION THEIR AIRCRAFT FROM POTOMAC AIRFIELD MAY DUE SO ONLY DURING THE ABOVE TIMES AND UNDER STRICT TSA DIRECTION UTILIZING CURRENT FLIGHT PLAN PROCEDURES. ALL OTHER OPERATIONS ARE PROHIBITED UNTIL TSA REINSTATES POTOMAC AIRFIELD SECURITY PLAN.
