Geico Skytypers New Webisode Series – “In-Formation”

A Behind-The-Scenes Look At Air Show Activities As An Air Show Performer

The Geico Skytypers, the only civilian flying unit in the world to use World War II-era planes to ‘type’ their messages in the sky, recently launched a webisode series entitled, “In-Formation”. 

The series was released on You Tube in the Fall of 2011. The first in an eight episode series,  “You’re My Favorite Skytyper”, was appropriately named based on an experience during a visit to a local Boys and Girls Club prior to an air show during the 2010 season.  This particular piece takes an individual look at each of the pilots who perform with the Geico Skytypers.

This week, the team is launching the second half of the series beginning with the most recent episode, “No Squawks”.  No Squawks features insights from the Geico Skytypers’ Maintainers and discuss the intricacies and skill required to maintain WWII aircraft. “We’ve spent two years recording and editing content to share with air show enthusiasts,” said Steve Kapur, pilot and marketing officer for the Geico Skytypers. “We’ve taken extra care to highlight the various aspects of performing in air shows while focusing on a few of the unique dynamics within the squadron.”
