Drone Helps Chinese Authorities Capture Fugitive

Man On The Run For 17 Years Was Living In A Cave

A human trafficker who escaped from a Chinese prison camp in 2002 was captured recently by Chinese authorities who used a drone to help locate the fugitive.

Fox News reports that Chinese authorities announced the capture of Song Jiang, 63, on Friday. He was being held for trafficking in women and children, according to state media reports.

The BBC reports that Jiang had been living in a tiny cave isolated from other people for several years. Following a tip concerning his location, police launched a drone to survey the area. They spotted a blue-colored steel tile on a steep cliff and household trash strewn around the area. They moved in on foot and found Jiang on September 19.

He had been in seclusion for so long, it was difficult for police to communicate with him as he was being taken into custody, according to the report.
