Reality TV Contestant Fatally Injured In Paragliding Accident

Had Been Part Of The Series 'The Bachelorette'

One of the contestants who vied for the affections of Andi Dorrman in the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette" has been fatally injured in a paragliding accident in Utah.

USA Today relays reports from Us Weekly and Buzzfeed that Eric Hill had been paragliding in Utah on Sunday when his parachute collapsed. Hill's death was confirmed by his sister Karen Tracy on Facebook.

The season is scheduled to debut May 14. ABC reportedly has not made a determination about what Hill's death will mean for the show, but Us Weekly said he was not the eventual winner.

The network said in a statement that it was "deeply saddened to hear about the tragic passing of our friend, Eric Hill. Eric inspired us every day with his passion, his courage and his adventurous spirit, and for that we are very thankful."
