SkyIMD Awarded AML-STC Approval For Multiple System Installation

Allows Up To Two SkyFusion Pak Systems From SkyIMD To Be Installed On One Aircraft

Advance aerial imaging system company SkyIMD said late last week that they have received FAA Approved Model List - Supplemental Type Certificate (AML-STC) approval of installations of multiple SkyFusion Pak systems on one aircraft. The expanded AML builds on the original AML certification granted to the company in August 2009, and authorizes installation of the SkyIMD aerial imaging system on either left or right wing struts, or multiple mounts (one system on both wing struts) of Cessna 206, 182 and 172 aircraft.

“This provides the ultimate configuration flexibility for our customers.” said Mark Zaller, director of product marketing. “Not only can the SkyFusion Pak system be mounted on left strut, right strut or belly of an aircraft, up to two different systems—of different sizes—can be mounted.”

SkyFusion Pak is a turnkey solution for real-time aerial imaging and intelligence. SkyFusion Pak meets the needs of mission-critical and technically-demanding applications including border patrol, law enforcement, crisis management and mobilization, and search and rescue.

Key features of SkyFusion Pak include:

  • Lightweight (21 pounds)
  • Typical installation completed in one day
  • STC FAA-approved
  • Real-time image and video streaming via satellite or 3G network
  • Automated analytics/reporting providing telemetry and geo-spatial data with 3D map overlays

Small, lightweight and portable, SkyFusion Pak can be deployed quickly and installed easily in the field on multiple aerial platforms. SkyFusion Pak includes a self-contained pod with an application-specific sensor and motorized control that is ready to be mounted on wing strut or under belly. The system can be configured with optional components, such as EO imager and infrared sensors, to meet the needs of different applications. It also includes a flight control laptop computer that is customized and pre-configured with comprehensive management and control software.
